What this helps you do
A Journey is a sequence of messages that runs on one audience. Each person starts it when they enter that audience, and each has their own clock. For a company, that audience is one you assign, such as New Team Members: a person starts the welcome because someone at your company added them to it, never because of a hire date, a start date, a first shift or anything in your HR system, which the Hub cannot see.
When to use it
Use it for a welcome that should read the same for everyone who joins: how workday notices will reach them, where the real systems live, and what they control.
How to do it
- Create a New Team Members audience and set it to company assigns.
- Open Campaigns and choose New Journey on that audience. The starter New Team Member Welcome has five notes: day 0, 2, 7, 14 and 30.
- Edit the notes in your own words. Link to your own systems; don't put schedule, pay, benefits or training information in the notes.
- If people are already in the audience, choose whether to start the Journey for all of them or only for people added from now on.
- Activate. Add each new team member to the audience, one at a time, with Bulk assign, or with an audiences column in an import or webhook that names it.
Example
HR adds each new team member to New Team Members on their first day. The welcome explains who sends notices and that a reply reaches a person, then how a closure or delayed start will reach them, where the schedule, pay and benefits systems are, the optional Company Events topic, and finally their own controls, including what STOP does.
Good to know
- Finishing the Journey is not HR onboarding and records nothing about it. The Journey page shows who received which note, nothing more.
- If someone leaves the audience their remaining messages stop; rejoining does not restart a finished sequence. Remove people from New Team Members when the welcome is done, or leave them: it only runs once per person.
