Where the Hub fits beside your donor database

Your donor database and giving platform keep the gift record. The Hub adds the channel to the supporters who chose to hear from you.

What this helps you do

Your CRM or donor database keeps who someone is and what they gave; your giving platform keeps the transaction; your volunteer scheduler keeps the shifts. The Hub holds only the supporters who connected, the audiences they picked, and what you sent. It holds no gift record and processes nothing, which is why a giving-day message links to your own giving page. Whatever the system, the doors are the same four: a CSV export you upload on Connections, the inbound webhook that invites one person at a time, signed outbound events that tell your systems who connected or replied, and the Zapier app when both ends are apps rather than code.

When to use it

Use the inbound webhook when the donation thank-you, a volunteer signup or an event registration should invite someone within minutes; that is the highest-value door for a nonprofit. Use CSV for the opted-in part of a list you already hold. Use outbound events when your CRM should learn who connected or replied.

How to do it

  • Point the confirmation step of your donation, volunteer or event form at the inbound webhook on Integrations, so a supporter is invited while the moment is still warm.
  • Export the opted-in people from your donor database, volunteer roster or mailing list and upload the CSV on Connections.
  • Add your HTTPS endpoint under events out so your CRM hears when someone connects, opts out or replies.
  • Ask for the Zapier app if you would rather not write code.
  • Send the volunteer call, the closure or the impact story from Send, linking to your own giving page where money is involved.

Example

A nonprofit points its donation thank-you page at the inbound webhook, so every new donor is invited within minutes of giving. Its outbound webhook posts each connection into a spreadsheet through Zapier. The gift record never leaves the donor database.

Good to know

  • There is no released connector for any named donor database or CRM; a Bloomerang connector is defined but is not yet available. A CSV export works on day one.
  • The Hub processes no donations and sends no payment links. Link to your own giving page instead.
  • Nonprofit verification changes pricing only. It adds bonus credits and has nothing to do with integrations, the Hub or Hub Pro.
