What this helps you do
Audiences let you group your people so a message reaches just the right folks. You always have one Churchwide audience that reaches everyone connected, plus optional audiences for ministries like Prayer, Youth, or Small Groups.
When to use it
Use audiences when a message matters to some of your church but not all of it: a youth event, a prayer need, a serve-team reminder, or a small-group update.
How to do it
- Open Audiences.
- Create an audience such as Prayer, Youth, Children & Families, Small Groups, Serve or Volunteers, or Sports.
- Choose how people join it: members choose it themselves, the church assigns people, or either.
- Mark an audience private if it is only for staff or a specific team.
- Members pick their own optional audiences on the preference page we provide for your church.
Example
You create a Youth audience set to members choose. On their preference page, families with teenagers opt in. Now your Youth Director can send about the Friday lock-in and reach exactly those families, not the whole church.
Good to know
- The Churchwide audience reaches everyone and cannot be deleted.
- For audiences that allow it, you can assign people directly instead of waiting for them to choose.
- Private audiences are handy for staff-only or leadership-only messages.
