Where the Hub fits beside your AMS

Your association management system stays the member record. The Hub adds the channel to the members who chose to hear from you.

What this helps you do

Your AMS keeps the member record, the dues, the renewal dates and the committee rolls; your event platform keeps the registrations. The Hub holds only the members who connected, the chapters and committees they follow, and what you sent. It is not a member record and never holds a balance, which is why a renewal reminder is a message that links to the page where members already pay. Whatever the system, the doors are the same four: a CSV export you upload on Connections, the inbound webhook that invites one person at a time, signed outbound events that tell your systems who connected or replied, and the Zapier app when both ends are apps rather than code.

When to use it

Use CSV from an opted-in member export, usually once a year. Use the inbound webhook when joining or renewing should invite a member the same day. Use outbound events when the AMS or a spreadsheet should learn who connected. Many associations run on the code in the welcome email alone.

How to do it

  • Export the opted-in members from your AMS and upload the CSV on Connections.
  • Point the join or renewal confirmation step at the inbound webhook on Integrations.
  • Add your HTTPS endpoint under events out if the AMS or a spreadsheet should hear about connections and replies.
  • Ask for the Zapier app to connect the two ends without code.
  • Send the meeting change, the deadline or the renewal reminder from Send, linking to your own renewal page.

Example

An association exports its opted-in members once a year and uploads the CSV. When a committee meeting moves, one Blast reaches that committee and the replies land in Conversations. Dues, renewals and the member record never left the AMS.

Good to know

  • There is no association-management or event-platform connector. Personify, iMIS, MemberClicks, Wild Apricot and Cvent are named here only to say so.
  • The Hub takes no payment, collects no dues and holds no balance or renewal date.
  • It carries a notice about a vote, a nomination deadline or a meeting. It is not a voting or balloting system and does not collect or count votes; a YES or NO reply is an RSVP.

Do it in your Hub

Inside your Hub, Help shows this same article next to the screen it describes. Sign in at directtomembers.com or right here.
