What this helps you do
Credits are how you pay for messages. They are prepaid, never expire, and there is no subscription. One typed Blast to one person is one Blasts credit; one email on the email leg is one email credit. Receiving is always free for your people; if someone replies to you, that uses their own credits, not yours. Credits are bought on BlastCredits, and the Hub unlocks with your first purchase.
When to use it
Check your balance before the school year starts and before a week you know will be busy, such as conference week or the start of winter weather, and top up when Home says your runway is getting short.
How to do it
- Look at Home to see your Blasts credits, your email credits, and roughly how many everyone-wide Blasts they cover.
- Before a send, read the Delivery panel: it shows how many people receive it on Blasts, by email and in the weekly digest, which is what the send will cost.
- When you need more, click Top up on Home: it takes you to BlastCredits checkout and the credits land in your organization's balance.
- Email credit packs run from $10 for 2,500 to $100 for 50,000; every new Hub starts with 50.
Example
A school with 900 connected families holds 12,000 credits. Home shows that covers about thirteen All Families Blasts, and about a term at the current pace. Before winter the business manager tops up so a 5:30 a.m. delay call never waits on a purchase order.
Good to know
- You are only charged for delivered messages; failed and cancelled sends cost nothing.
- Blasts credits and email credits are separate balances. A bounced address is switched back to Blasts-only automatically so you are not charged for dead mail.
- Hub Pro, which adds Journeys and Event Campaigns, unlocks at $500 in cumulative purchases for any organization and stays unlocked. Content Series is available from the start.
- Pricing is standard BlastCredits pricing. A school registered as a nonprofit, or a public school district, may apply for bonus credits on BlastCredits; that is a separate program and nothing about the Hub depends on it.
- The Hub never mints or moves credits. It reads the balance and sends you to BlastCredits to buy more.
