Build the notices around one civic date

The notice, the reminder, the details on the day and the summary after, all timed from one date you set once.

What this helps you do

An Event Campaign is a set of messages built around one fixed date. You set the date once and add messages timed relative to it: days or hours before, on the day, at event time, and after. The Hub schedules them all, and if the date changes, every upcoming message moves with it.

When to use it

Use it for a single date the whole town has to know about: a town meeting or budget hearing, a household hazardous waste day, a scheduled water shutoff, an election-day facility change, a festival or parade, a leaf-collection deadline.

How to do it

  • Open Campaigns and choose New Event Campaign.
  • Name it, pick the audience, and set the event date and time.
  • Add messages timed before the event (save the date, reminders), on the day (times, parking, details), and after (thank you, next steps).
  • Review the timeline and Activate.
  • If plans move, use Change event date: upcoming messages are rescheduled; messages already sent do not change.

Example

For a budget hearing you set the date, then add the first notice to Meetings & Notices two weeks out linking the posted agenda, a reminder the day before with the time, place and parking, a short note two hours before, and a summary the next morning saying what was decided. When the hearing is continued to the following week, you change the date once and the pending messages move with it.

Good to know

  • A resident who connects after the campaign starts receives only the upcoming messages, never the reminders that already passed.
  • For a same-day change, such as a room move or a delay, send a regular message to the audience; the campaign carries the planned arc.
  • The Hub composer does not attach a calendar file or run a countdown. Link the agenda and the official notice instead; that is where the legally posted version lives.
  • Event Campaigns are part of Hub Pro, which unlocks at $500 in cumulative credit purchases for any organization.
