What this helps you do
Blasts gives your gym a direct channel to members, instructors and trainers, with their consent. Each person installs the free Blasts app once, usually on the phone that goes in the gym bag, and connects to your gym. After that the cancelled class, the closure and the schedule change land on that phone, clearly marked as from your gym, instead of in an inbox they stopped opening in week three. The Hub picks the right path for each person: someone already on Blasts gets a request in the app; someone who is not gets your invitation email with the enrollment code.
When to use it
Signup is the moment. Put the invitation in the welcome email, the membership agreement and the first-visit walkthrough, then repeat it in the building: the front desk, the locker-room board and a sign on the studio floor. Run one pass over the members you already have, then let new signups arrive on their own.
How to do it
- Open Connections in your Hub and click Sync connections once so your enrollment code is published.
- Add the enrollment code and QR code to the welcome email and the membership agreement, and click Print the enrollment kit for the front desk, the locker rooms and the studio floor.
- Where the enrollment link is enabled for your Hub, paste that one standing link into the welcome email and your class schedule page: each person who opens it gets their own enrollment page.
- Each member installs Blasts on their phone, opens Settings, enters the code and taps Join. Instructors can share the same code with the people in their classes.
- For members who joined before you started, export the opted-in member list from whatever you run memberships in and use Add many at once or upload the CSV. Invitations are checked on Blasts and spread out at up to 200 a day.
- Point your sign-up form at the inbound webhook on Integrations, or use the Zapier app, so each new member is invited the day they join.
- Accept requests under People who want to connect, or turn on auto-accept while you are running the first push.
Example
A studio with 412 members puts the code in the welcome email and the kit on the front desk in January. In week two the manager uploads the export of the existing member list, and those invitations go out over the following days. By February 300 members are connected, and the first 5:15 a.m. cancellation reaches them before anyone has left the house.
Good to know
- There is no connector to membership-management or class-booking software of any kind. Your member list reaches the Hub as a CSV export, through the inbound webhook, or through Zapier, and your bookings stay where they are.
- Connecting is consent-based: a member can mute you, set quiet hours so a 5 a.m. note does not wake them, or disconnect at any time without telling you.
- The connection belongs to your gym, so it survives a change of membership software or email platform.
- Import columns: your file needs an email column. The Hub also recognizes name, first name, last name, phone, address, birthday, household, and interests (a column headed audiences, tags, groups or lists works too). Files are limited to 5,000 rows and 2 MB, with a preview before anything is sent.
- This is Blasts, not SMS: no carrier fees, and no spreadsheet of members' mobile numbers to collect or pass around.
