What this helps you do
An edition is a message to one publication's audience. It reaches each reader by email, or on Blasts if they connected with the same address. The composer supports formatting, links and images, up to three attached files for readers on Blasts, and a Send a test to me button so you see exactly what readers receive.
When to use it
Use it for every edition you write by hand, a special edition, a correction, a schedule change for one publication, and anything with images or files.
How to do it
- Open Compose, or start from a template: New edition, Special edition, Schedule change, Correction, Reader question or New publication.
- Pick the one publication it belongs to.
- Write the edition. A file you attach reaches readers on Blasts only, so readers receiving by email need a link to it.
- Read the Delivery panel: one Blasts credit per reader on Blasts, one email credit per email.
- Click Send a test to me, then Send now, Schedule for later or Repeat weekly.
Example
The Sunday letter's editor writes this week's edition on Saturday, sends a test to herself, and schedules it for Sunday at 7. The owner approves it under Sent & Scheduled. On Sunday at 7 the letter goes to its readers and to nobody else.
Good to know
- An immediate send is held for about a minute so you can cancel it from Sent & Scheduled; nothing is charged for a cancelled Blast.
- Editor approval is on by default: an editor's edition waits under Sent & Scheduled until an owner or administrator approves it. Settings can turn it off.
- A send to All Subscribers reaches the readers of every publication and asks for a passkey confirmation first.
- Delivery status is per channel. The Hub does not know whether a reader read an edition or acted on it.
