What this helps you do
Blasts gives your restaurant a direct channel to guests you have already won, with their consent. Each guest installs the free Blasts app once and connects to your restaurant. After that, a reservation change, tonight's entertainment, the wine dinner and an unexpected closure land on their phone, clearly marked as from you, instead of in a promotions tab. The Hub picks the right path for each person: someone already on Blasts gets a request in the app; someone who is not gets your invitation email with the enrollment code.
When to use it
Put the invitation at the moments you already own: the reservation confirmation, the loyalty welcome, the receipt, the table tent, the menu insert and the pickup bag. It happens every service, not at one event, and the host and servers can mention it when the check comes.
How to do it
- Open Connections in your Hub and click Sync connections once so your enrollment code is published.
- Print the enrollment kit as a table tent or menu insert, and put the enrollment code or QR code on the receipt and the pickup bag.
- Add the code, or the standing enrollment link where it is enabled for your Hub, to the confirmation and reminder emails your reservation system already sends, and to the welcome new loyalty members receive.
- Each guest installs Blasts on their phone, opens Settings, enters the code and taps Join.
- If your loyalty or reservation platform gives you an opted-in guest list, export it and use Add many at once or upload the CSV. Invitations are checked on Blasts and spread out at up to 200 a day.
- Point your loyalty signup form at the inbound webhook on Integrations, or use the Zapier app, so each new member is invited the day they join.
- Accept requests under People who want to connect, or turn on auto-accept in Settings so guests are connected the moment they join.
Example
A neighborhood bistro prints the kit as a table tent and puts the code on every receipt. The host mentions it to regulars; the owner uploads the loyalty export for everyone else. A month later 600 guests are connected, so when a burst pipe closes the dining room on a Friday afternoon, every booked table hears it from the restaurant before they leave home.
Good to know
- Connecting is consent-based: a guest can mute or disconnect at any time, so the list stays made of people who want to hear from you.
- This is not a way to message strangers or a purchased list: a guest must connect before anything is delivered.
- Import columns: your file needs an email column. The Hub also recognizes name, first name, last name, phone, address, birthday, household, and interests (a column headed audiences, tags, groups or lists works too). Files are limited to 5,000 rows and 2 MB, with a preview before anything is sent.
- There is no POS or reservation-platform connector. Your guest list reaches the Hub as a CSV export, through the inbound webhook, or through Zapier.
- The Reach funnel on Connections shows where every guest stands (known, invited, requested or connected) and how they arrived: code, import, webhook, request or Zapier.
- This is Blasts, not SMS: no per-message carrier fee, and no mobile numbers to collect.
