What this helps you do
Sending a Blast delivers your message to the phones and computers of everyone in the audience you pick, and by email to the residents who chose email. You can send now, schedule for later, or repeat weekly. The composer supports formatting, links and images (a map of the closed garage level), up to three attached files (the amenity rules, the meeting agenda), a YES / NO reply the Hub counts, and Send a test to me so you see exactly what residents will receive.
When to use it
Use it for the notices that generate calls when they are missed: a water or utility shutoff, maintenance that needs to enter a unit, an elevator or gate out of service, a garage or amenity closure, a package room or office change, a parking enforcement or cleaning date, a community event, weather and the urgent operational hour, and the ordinary weekly update. A charge reminder is fine too: write it, and point residents at the portal or office where they already pay.
How to do it
- Open Send, or start from one of the starter templates your Hub seeds for shutoffs, unit access, gate and elevator failures, amenity closures, office notices, events, urgent notices and weekly updates.
- Pick an audience: one building, one floor, maintenance notices, amenities, parking and access, the board, or All Residents.
- Type the message and add a photo or a map if it helps. Attach the rules or the agenda (up to three files, 5 MB each).
- When you need a real answer, such as a time for a technician to enter, ask for a YES / NO reply and the Hub counts the answers.
- Read the Delivery panel: one Blasts credit per resident on Blasts, one email credit per email.
- Click Send a test to me, then choose Send now, Schedule for later, or Repeat weekly for a standing update.
- If you are sending to All Residents, confirm with your passkey or on your phone when asked.
Example
A riser fails at 2 p.m. and the water has to go off in Building B from 8 the next morning. The manager picks the Building B audience, says what will be off, from when to when, what to fill the night before, and that the office will post here when it is back on, then clicks Send now. Two hundred residents read it before dinner. The lobby sign still goes up, because some residents are not connected and some never will be.
Good to know
- An immediate send is held for about a minute so you can cancel it from Sent & Scheduled; nothing is charged for a cancelled Blast.
- Delivered and read counts come from confirmed actions in the Blasts app, not open pixels. A read is not an acknowledgement and it is not legal notice: when you need an answer, ask for a YES / NO reply, and post or mail whatever the lease, the bylaws or the law require.
- This is one more channel, not a replacement for the notice on the door. An entry notice, a habitability notice and an association meeting notice go out the way they always have; this is what makes residents actually see them.
- The composer sends typed messages, attachments, YES / NO replies, scheduling and repeat-weekly. It does not send payment links, badges, countdowns or voice messages.
- Recurring Blasts, such as a weekly community update, are managed under Sent & Scheduled: pause, resume or delete them there.
- If a community manager's Blasts require approval (Settings), their send waits under Sent & Scheduled until an administrator approves it.
